Katharine Cosenza Butler
Date: 3/12/2008 until 4/12/2008
Time: 11:00 am to 4:00 am
Location: Katharine Butler Gallery (View Map)

Description: Artist Reception and Third Friday Towles Court Artwalk March 21st, 2008 6-10 pm This exhibition features new work from artist Katharine Butler inspired by an unexpected visit to her childhood hometown and friends not seen in many years. Growing up along the rocky shores and beaches of New England, the rocks, shells, horseshoe crabs, gulls, the smell of the wet sand, changing tides, and all the weather made up a familiar and trusted environment. Her work for this exhibition catches her in the midst of contemplations begun by this reflective look at earlier years: where she has been, where she is, where she is going. In the larger sense, Katharine explores where we as a people, as a species, as a planet, have succeeded or failed as we have either ignored or cherished our natural inheritance.
