Description: May 14th – July 5th, 2008
Artist Receptions and Third Friday Towles Court Artwalks
Friday May 16th, 2008 6-10 pm
Friday June 20th, 2008 6-10 pm
This exhibition features new work by photographer Diana Lucas Leavengood inspired by the Holt, Rhinehart and Winston series “Rivers of America”. Leavengood’s new series American River began by exposing various legs of the Hillsborough River, which runs into Tampa Bay from its source in the Green Swamp. The river is rich in history and wildlife. Her desire was to visually connect the city of Tampa with its major water source. The images may seem random yet they are planned out and executed with meticulous attention to subject matter and framing. They are created entirely inside a Pentax K1000 on 35mm film over a period of time ranging from a few moments to one year. Over the course of the project, she was able to travel in an 8,000-mile loop through the interior of the United States. Iconic images and places from her travels have been incorporated into the river scenes creating not only double exposures but in some cases quadruple exposures.

Description: WHITE ON STATE 2
MAY 17TH, 2008, 7-12PM
State Street and Lemon Ave
Due to the continuing demand for new and exciting events in which to bring awareness to Downtown Sarasota, Cheryl Frampton aka Tinkerbell Events and Promotions is proud to present White on State 2 “Home Design in Motion”.
This event is continuing to grow from year to year and is becoming one of the most requested major events for downtown. Last year we attracted a diverse crowd and many who lived further a field, which in turn aided our own tourist industry. Watch an incredible show, take in the music and wander amongst the village of white vignettes as some of our top businesses showcase their creativity all in white, while competing for a grand prize. These are just some of the things to enjoy during the beautiful evenings of late spring.
A 90foot runway will be erected on State Street; this will have an urban and metallic feel to it. Four light towers will protrude from the runway and give way to displays of our local Art. On the runway will take place an unusual fashion show featuring local fashion stores in partnership with home designers. The whole show will be a visual effect of Fashion and Home Design in motion where models become part of the furniture of their particular room choice.
Entertainment during fashion show break will be spectacular. Wander through the village of white, judge for yourself the best decked out vignette. Taste great food from out top restaurants. And if you’re lucky you might just feel a chill in the air?
Tinkerbell Events and Promotions are proud to be benefitting the Child Protection Agency from
this event.
Bring your work colleagues, family, and friends. Where else can you go for an incredible night for $10.00 per ticket, and a chance to win a great prize, and watch an incredible show?
White on State 2 is the place to be and the place to be seen and don’t forget to wear white!
For those businesses interested in the creative competition please contact Cheryl Frampton. For flyer and details.
Please check out www.tinkerbellevents.com for a selection of pictures from last years White on State.
